Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, founded in 1980 as a division of Touro College, is committed to providing a quality legal education that encourages students to examine the moral goals of the law while promoting social justice and community service. Touro Law Center, accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and a member of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS), offers students a full-time and part-time day and evening J.D. program as well as joint degree and LL.M. programs.

This year, Touro Law Center has been completely revitalized. We have moved to a new location, adjacent to and working with a federal courthouse and a state courthouse. We are the first law campus of its kind in the country, and our newly designed curriculum not only addresses all aspects of law in today’s changing world, but capitalizes on the proximity of the courthouses. In addition, our new 185,000 square foot building is a state-of-the-art facility with enhanced technology, classrooms, study spaces and more.

Touro Law Center offers students an education that truly bridges the gap between academic theory and legal practice. Our new law campus enables students to take advantage of the synergies resulting from combining a legal education with the day-to-day workings of the courts, court-related agencies, and legal service providers. Our first-year students participate in the Court Observation Program in their first semester.

Touro Law Center’s outstanding faculty is comprised of more than 40 full-time members, who are actively engaged in research, making noteworthy contributions to legal scholarship and law reform. They bring talent and experience to the classroom as well as a genuine passion for teaching. In addition, our faculty is uniquely dedicated to the success of our student body, priding themselves on accessibility, creating an open and cooperative learning environment that is dynamic and enriching.

Touro alumni, with a base of nearly 5,000, have achieved distinction in virtually every field of law as well as a wide range of business, corporate, government, public service, and public interest positions. Touro alums are a vital part of our community, serving as mentors, judges for student competitions, members of our governing board, adjunct professors and role models for our students.

The Gould Law Library is the principal resource of the Touro Law Center, encouraging and supporting teaching, study and scholarly research.. Our collection includes more than 420,000 law and law-related volumes and microform and computerized systems further strengthen the resources available.

In addition, Touro Law Center is home to the Public Advocacy Center. This wing of the building houses 14 furnished offices with telephone and internet access to local non-profit agencies free of charge. Touro Law students work with these organizations to satisfy their pro-bono requirements while developing an understanding of the problems facing the local community. The Public Advocacy Center, the only one of its kind in the nation, was included to have an impact on social justice, legal training and the lives of countless individuals in and beyond the local community.
