New Class of Alumni Installed on Touro Law’s Judicial Wall of Honor

Touro Law Center created a Judicial Wall of Honor in 2014 to recognize the achievements of alumni who were elected or appointed to serve as judges or justices to courts across the country. An event was held at the law school on September 27th as a new class of 20 judges was added. The permanent exhibit in the law school, which contains 50 total alumni judicial portraits to date, serves as a source of both pride and inspiration for members of the Touro Law community. 

“Touro Law has always emphasized legal knowledge as well as ethical foundations of the legal profession. The graduates pictured on this wall represent the embodiment of those ideals. We are proud to showcase our alumni who serve on the bench as an example to all who walk the halls of our law school,” stated Dean Elena Langan. “The event provided an opportunity for our alumni, their families and the greater Touro Law community to gather and celebrate this class of inductees being added to our wall of honor.”

The Hon. Joaquin E. Orellana, J.C.C., New York City Civil Court – Bronx County, stated, “I am honored to have been a part of the Alumni Judicial Wall of Honor Installment Ceremony. I would like to thank Touro Law for my inclusion in the Alumni Judicial Wall. In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., ‘You don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step.’ May the Alumni Judicial Wall of Honor inspire many first steps and serve as a symbol of possibilities.”

Touro Law Center alumni are an integral component of the school community and play an important role in the education and enrichment of students. Numbering over 7,000 worldwide, Touro Law alumni proudly serve as leaders in the profession and as mentors to our students.
