Office of Student Services & Records

The Office of Student Services and Records (OSSR) addresses quality-of-life issues affecting students and acts as a liaison among students, faculty and administration. OSSR also serves as a source of information for students by offering support and resources to enhance students’ educational experience.

OSSR also houses academic records, official student files and is a valuable resources for students. The Office assists students with registering for courses, processes transcripts and letter requests for the certification of loan deferments, Veteran’s benefits, bar loan application, bar exam eligibility and Character & Fitness documentation.

The Office is administered by Assistant Dean Heather DePierro. She provides general advising and counseling, including:

  • course selection
  • long-range course planning
  • early graduation
  • adjusting to law school
  • stress and anxiety

The office is responsible for key areas, including:

  • Disability Resources. providing confidential support for students with physical, learning, or other disabilities. Services include the development of an individualized accommodation plan, including appropriate examination modifications, such as extra time.   • Counseling / Advising. All law students experience stress to one degree or another. The Law Center has a few different resources available for student advising, counseling and mental health assistance. All conversations are confidential.
Heather DePierro, is available for informal, confidential counseling regarding stress management as the result of law school or non-law-school issues, bereavement, and crisis intervention. She can also assist with advisement in regard to course selection and other academic concerns. To make an appointment, email or call (631) 761-7050.
Adriana Silva, LMSW, is a professional counselor who is available to meet with students for personal counseling on a confidential basis, by appointment, free of charge. To schedule a virtual appointment, you may contact her directly at (631) 320-5841 or by emailor via the Office of Student Services and Records.
Rabbi Robert Fogel, Campus Rabbi,is available to meet with students for informal counseling. For appointments, please call (631) 761-7440 or email robert.fogel2@touro.edu.
The Office of Student Services publishes important information in the weekly Touro Times. Students also receive information occasionally through their Touro Law e-mail account.
