Nicole Boeckman is the chief of the Long Island Criminal Division for the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of New York. In naming her to the post in 2010, Loretta Lynch, the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York said, "Throughout her career . . . (she) has exemplified professionalism and dedication . . . [and] excellence in management and mentoring." Professor Boeckmann joined the Eastern District in 2004, and prosecuted a number of significant gang cases, including cases against members of the Bloods, Crips and Latin Kings. She has also worked on the prosecutions of organized-crime figures and white-collar criminals. Before joining the Eastern District, she was an assistant district attorney in Manhattan, where she successfully prosecuted homicide, rape and robbery cases. She graduated from the University of Michigan, and received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Catholic University School of Law in Washington, D.C.
