William
Bird, III is a principal at Murtha & Bird, P.C. in Westbury, NY, where he
represents small and large businesses and Not-for-Profit organizations. In his
non-profit law concentration, he counsels and advocates for
not-for-profits and religious organizations in a wide variety of areas,
including governance, regulatory matters involving the Internal Revenue Service
(including 501(c)(3) qualification) and commercial matters. He
received his BA from York College of Pennsylvania, his Juris Doctor from
the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and his M.S. (Tax) from Hofstra University's Frank G. Zarb
School of Business. Since 2005, Mr. Bird has
been an adjunct professor at the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center
where he is currently the Director of the Small Business & Not-For-Profit
Clinic which provides transactional legal assistance to non-profits and
small businesses.
