Graduate Spotlight: Lisaann London

Lisaann London vividly recalls her first visit to Touro Law Center, where she saw a law school class for the first time. She says that it was that moment when she knew her dream to attend law school would come true. Now, three years later, Lisaann is a proud Touro Law graduate, poised to make her dream of working toward justice for all a reality.

Lisaann describes Touro as an institution that supported her academically, professionally, and personally. She always had a passion for promoting equality and focused that passion on access to justice.

During her time at Touro Law Center, Lisaann gained lots of hands-on experience. She earned a judicial internship alongside the Honorable Fernando Camacho in the Suffolk County Family Court. Lisaann previously worked with the Brooklyn Defender Service as a Pro Bono Scholar, where she devoted her last semester of law school to performing pro bono service. While a student, Lisaann was also a legal intern with both The Legal Aid Society in the Kings County office in the Criminal Defense Practice, and with the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County in the Juvenile Rights Bureau. She also worked with the Re-Entry Unit of the Nassau Suffolk Law Services Committee, Inc., as a volunteer.

Lisaann was also a known leader on campus and an involved student in various organizations. She served as the Outreach Co-Coordinator of the Trial Advocacy & Practice Honor Society, the New York Metro Subregional Director the Northeast Black Law Students Association, Co-President of the Black Law Students Association, Vice President of the Family Law Society, Treasurer of the Suffolk County Bar Association–Touro Chapter, and a Student Ambassador for the Admissions office at Touro Law.

Lisaann wants prospective and current students to know, “Law school is a unique chance to unleash your potential and soar high. It's a time to broaden your horizons, build lasting connections, and embrace new experiences.” She continues, “I am a first-generation college graduate and law school graduate. I am so proud of my journey thus far and look ahead to a bright future. I want to remind anyone who dreams of law school that if you work hard, you can succeed. I am living proof that dreams do come true.”
