Touro Law Welcomes Joe Walz as Assistant Director of Academic Development and Bar Programs

Touro Law Center Dean Patricia Salkin is pleased to announce that Joe Walz has been appointed as Assistant Director of Academic Development and Bar Programs. In this role, Mr. Walz will work in our academic program in many facets, including recruiting, training, and supervising teaching assistants; working with students on an individual basis; coordinating and providing skills training workshops; developing appropriate student learning materials; coordinating and teaching in Touro Law’s bar-preparation programs; and implementing new services relevant to enhancing our law students’ academic experience.

“We are delighted that Joe has joined the Touro Law family. He brings a wealth and depth of experience in academic support. I am confident he will prove to be a tremendous resource to our students,” said Dean Patricia Salkin.

Prior to joining Touro Law, Walz worked at Florida Coastal School of Law as the Assistant Director of Academic Success in charge of writing assistance and as an adjunct professor. Before that, he worked with the Public Defender’s office in Gainesville, Florida. While in law school at the University of Florida, Joe Walz was the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Technology Law & Policy, a founding executive articles editor for the Entertainment Law Review, and an intern with the Alachua County Attorney’s Office. His areas of expertise include bar exam preparation, foundational writing concepts, legal research and writing, study skills and student counseling.
