Liberty & Justice For All Annual Dinner to Recognize New Builders Society Inductees, Other Honorees

Gala Dinner to be Held Thursday, April 28 at the Garden City Hotel

Touro Law Center will welcome two new members of its Builders Society and honor several other individuals, law firms and corporations at the annual With Liberty & Justice for All dinner to be held on April 28, 2022 at the Garden City Hotel beginning at 6pm. It is expected that nearly $400,000 will be raised at this year’s dinner, to support the programs and students of Touro Law.

“This dinner promises to be an exciting celebration of individuals and corporations that have had an impact on our community,” stated Dean and Professor of Law Elena B. Langan. “The dinner marks our largest single fundraising effort throughout the year, and I am encouraged at the level of support we have received to date. I look forward to honoring the award recipients and joining all in an evening of celebration.”

This year’s Builders Society inductees are:

John Tsunis - Tsunis has more than 28 years of banking and real estate experience, currently serving as Executive Vice President of Alma Bank’s Private Banking Group. Tsunis has a long history of community and philanthropic work. He is a longtime and generous member of Touro Law Center’s Board of Governors. He has been instrumental in identifying new Board members, assisting with fundraising efforts, and providing personal support for the growth of the school through scholarships and capital projects.

Linda Howard Weissman - Weissman serves as Assistant Dean for Institutional Advancement at Touro Law, heading a department responsible for annual fund, major gifts, corporate, foundation and government relations, planned giving, special events, and alumni relations, as well as marketing and public relations. She has raised tens of millions of dollars for institutional support and student scholarships during her tenure, which spans nearly three decades. 

In addition to the Builders Awards: 
  • Neal Garelik will receive the Dean’s Medal for his extraordinary support of Touro;
  • Corporation of the Year award will be presented to TRITEC Real Estate Co, Inc.;
  • lected Official of the Year Award will be presented to The Hon. Victoria Gumbs-Moore ’00;
  • Law Firm of the Year will be presented to Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, LLP; and
  • The Paul S. Miller Award will be presented to Dorian R. Glover ’96.
We will also recognize the 2022 Alumni Award Honorees:
  • Law School Service Award being presented to Marjorie Mesidor Ulysse '04, Phillips & Associates, Attorneys at Law PLLC;
  • Outstanding Young Alumni being presented to Pallvi Babbar '12, Babbar & Associates, P.C.; and 
  • Keith Romaine Elected Official Award presented to Keith P. Brown '94, NYS Assemblyman, 12th District.
