42nd Annual Commencement Ceremony to Honor, Celebrate the Class of 2024
May 14, 2024Touro Law Center’s 2024 Commencement ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, 720 Northern Boulevard, Brookville, NY. The ceremony will include an address from Commencement Speaker the Hon. David A. Paterson, New York State 55th Governor and Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging at Touro & Distinguished Professor. At this year’s ceremony, 145 JD candidates will be honored including December and May graduates from the full-time, part-time and hybrid FlexTime JD programs.
“We are proud of the members of Touro Law’s class of 2024,” said Dean Elena Langan. “They are a passionate group of graduates who have already shown resilience and dedication in earning their law degrees. They are graduating law school prepared for their legal careers and all future endeavors.”
David A. Paterson became the 55th Governor of the State of New York on March 17, 2008. Governor Paterson embodies a rare combination of skills, including a unique understanding of marketplace drivers and surrounding events. He earned his B.A in History from Columbia University and his J.D. from Hofstra Law School.
Prior to becoming New York State’s 55th Governor, Governor Paterson began his political career when he was elected to represent Harlem in 1985 at the age of 31, making him the third youngest state senator in New York’s history. In 2002, he was elected Minority Leader of the New York State Senate, becoming the first African-American and blind legislative leader in the state’s history. Among his many other accomplishments and distinctions, he was honored to address the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center is located adjacent to both a state and a federal courthouse in Central Islip, New York.
