March 16, 2010Central Islip, NY – Touro Law Center will present the Bruce K. Gould Book Award to Ken Gormley, author of The Death of American Virtue: Clinton vs. Starr, on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 starting at 5:30 pm. The celebration will include a book signing, lecture and award presentation as well as a reception.
The Bruce K. Gould Book Award, named for its benefactor Bruce K. Gould, is presented annually by Touro Law Center to the author of an outstanding publication related to the law, legal profession or legal system. It has become known as one of the most prestigious awards of its kind. Since 1993, it has been presented to many notable recipients, including Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, The Honorable Marvin E. Frankel, Alan M. Dershowitz, and many others.
Gormley’s book, The Death of American Virtue: Clinton vs. Starr, was released on February 16, 2010 and has become a best-seller. Gormley is the author of “Archibald Cox: Conscience of a Nation” (Perseus Books, 1997), the authorized biography of one of the leading lawyers and public servants of modern times. The book won rave reviews from leading publications across the country, and won the 1999 Bruce K. Gould Book Award for outstanding publication related to the law. Gormley has published dozens of book chapters and scholarly articles, including pieces in the Stanford Law Review and Michigan Law Review.
