Touro Welcomes Director of Development, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations and Continuing Legal Education
December 6, 2018Dean Harry Ballan is pleased to announce two new hires: Michael Quinn as Director of Development, and Gabrielle Cleaves ’16 as the Assistant Director of Alumni and Continuing Legal Education.
In his role as Director of Development, Michael Quinn will lead and manage development initiatives and projects for the law school. For the past seven years, Michael has worked in all facets of institutional advancement at various colleges and universities.
Prior to joining Touro, Mr. Quinn was the Director for Alumni Relations and Giving at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, where he led the college to its most successful annual fund in history, raising more than $1 million. He continued to leverage and expand the College’s portfolio of engaged alumni and donors, for the benefit of students, faculty, and staff.
He stated “I am excited to join the Touro family and look forward to a long and meaningful career with the law center.”
Gabrielle Cleaves graduated from Touro Law Center in 2016 and is the new Assistant Director of Alumni Relations and Continuing Education. She graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2009. She majored in Judicial Studies and minored in government. After earning her J.D. from Touro Law Center, Ms. Cleaves worked in the Nassau County District Attorney’s office where she gained litigation experience. Her love for Touro Law Center brought her back as the current Assistant Director of Alumni Relations.
Ms. Cleaves stated, “I look forward to planning and executing programs fostering alumni engagement and increasing annual support. I am pleased to serve as a primary liaison to the law school for our alumni and am so happy to be back.”
Touro’s Office of Institutional Advancement includes alumni relations, development, events, and communications for the law school. Touro Law has an alumni base of more than 6,500 working in more than 40 states and 19 countries.

Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law is located adjacent to both a state and a federal courthouse in Central Islip, New York. Touro Law’s proximity to the courthouses, coupled with programming developed to integrate the courtroom into the classroom, provide a one-of-a kind learning experience for law students, combining a rigorous curriculum taught by expert faculty with a practical courtroom experience.
