Thomas Maligno Named to NALP Board

April 27, 2010

Central Islip, NY – Thomas Maligno, Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center’s Director of Public Interest and Executive Director of the William Randolph Hearst Public Advocacy Center, has been nominated and elected to the Executive Board of the National Association for Law Placement (NALP).

NALP was founded in 1971, during a period of rapid change in both the legal profession and legal education, in response to a perceived need by many law schools and legal employers for a common forum to discuss issues involving placement and recruitment. NALP is dedicated to facilitating legal career counseling and planning, recruitment and retention, and the professional development of law students and lawyers.

“Tom is the only NALP board member who specializes in Public Interest law and we’re very proud of him for being elected to this prestigious position,” said Touro Law Center Dean Lawrence Raful. “Tom has always been dedicated to law students and the profession and this is a natural extension of his hard work and dedication.”
