Judith Lespinasse
Elder Law Paralegal/Gerontologist

Judith Lespinasse currently serves as an Elder Law Paralegal/Gerontologist with the Senior Citizens Law Program at Touro Law School. Prior to her current position, she spent a decade with the Elder Care Division of the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County.

Judith is an experienced Paralegal/Gerontologist with a demonstrated track record of assisting senior citizens and their families navigate the eligibility requirements and intricacies associated with applying for government programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Retirement, and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). In addition, she investigates government benefit denial cases, SSI overpayment, and where appropriate, represents clients in administrative proceedings. She also assists clients with the process of joining a Pooled Income Trust and the preparation of key documents, including Power of Attorney, Health Care Proxy, Living Will, Revocation of Power of Attorney, Name Change, and Letters of Administration. She often serves as an intermediary between clients, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, creditors, and government agencies.


In addition, Judith serves as the Site Supervisor for the Suffolk County Community College (SCCC) Paralegal Studies Internship Program. Every spring semester, she welcomes a cohort of undergraduate and graduate interns to Touro and presents them with valuable opportunities to work with clients and explore their own career paths in the law. She also serves on SCCC's Paralegal Advisory Board, where she joins lawyers, judges, and members of the legal and business communities in guiding the Paralegal Program to continued success.

Mrs. Lespinasse is a graduate of Adelphi University and Hofstra University, where she earned a master's degree in Gerontology and was inducted as a member of Sigma Phi Omega, the national academic honor and professional society in gerontology.
