The Trial Advocacy Institute

The Trial Advocacy Institute at Touro Law Center presents an exciting and innovative educational experience that benefits the students at Touro Law Center as well as those who litigate in the courts on Long Island and beyond.

The Institute:

1) Offers a concentration in trial advocacy, training Touro Law students in advanced trial advocacy skills. Students who complete the concentration will be certified by Touro Law Center as “trial ready.” In addition to completing the required curriculum, students will compete in at least one trial competition and extern in a litigation position in order to complete the concentration.

2) Prepares Touro students for Trial Competitions, actively working with members of the local bench and bar.

3) Presents lectures/CLE programs on topics of interest to litigators as selected not only by the Institute’s board and educators but based upon requests by members of the legal community.

4) Offers trial training programs to students, graduates, and members of the legal community in traditional trial advocacy techniques, as well as in developing and cutting-edge areas such as Technology in the Courtroom and the Use and Misuse of Artificial Intelligence in the Litigation Process, , reflecting changes and developments within the litigation field.

5) Serves as a resource for students and lawyers, providing videos, transcripts, and writings from trials and trial programs to assist in trial preparation.

Touro’s Trial Advocacy Institute’s Advisory Board of outstanding judges and litigators provides the wisdom that only highly respected jurists and litigators can offer. In addition, the Institute’s Mentors Circle, comprised of Touro Law Center graduates who are successful litigators, relate to and work with Touro’s trial students providing mentorship and networking opportunities.
