This engaging CLE program, sponsored by the Trial Advocacy Institute, explores the realities behind jury selection across civil and criminal proceedings in state and federal courts. Through a dynamic panel discussion featuring experienced trial attorneys and judges and a live demonstration of voir dire in action, participants will examine the strategies lawyers use when evaluating potential jurors—and whether those strategies truly aim to achieve fairness. The program will address practical and ethical considerations, implicit bias, and the balance between advocacy and impartiality. Attendees will gain valuable insights into effective jury selection techniques and the broader impact these choices have on trial outcomes.
